Endocrinology
Endocrinology and Nutrition is a branch of Medicine that deals with studying the physiology and pathology of the endocrine system, as well as nutritional metabolism and the pathological consequences of its disorders. It also encompasses both theoretical and practical knowledge about relevant diagnostic, therapeutic and dietary measures and standards for Preventive Medicine in these fields.

The scope and content of the specialty includes the physiology and pathology of endocrine glands, hormone synthesis and secretion, metabolism and its peripheral activity, hormonal interactions and reciprocal influence between hormones and with respect to various metabolic processes, and the consequences of hormonal dysfunction. Also included in this specialty is critical analysis and development of the necessary methodology in order to determine hormones and their biological reading, as well as Preventive Medicine and rehabilitation associated with such processes.
