Your health is covered at every stage
Haemodynamics is a specialty associated to cardiology which studies the dynamics of blood in the arteries, arterioles, capillaries, veins and all types of blood structures.
It is also responsible for studying the anatomy and function of the heart through the insertion of thin catheters, a technique known as cardiac catheterisation, which provides detailed information about the state of the blood vessels of the heart and of the whole body. This way, birth defects can be diagnosed as well as any other type of dysfunction.
The haemodynamics unit of Hospitales San Roque is equipped with the latest technology available to diagnose heart disease and establish an effective treatment. Some of the procedures we carry out in our facilities are: coronary angioplasties, optical coherence tomography, intravascular ultrasounds, percutaneous implantation of aortic valve prostheses, percutaneous closure of the foramen ovale, percutaneous closure of atrial septal defect, left atrial appendage occlusion and study of vulnerable plaque.
